"Still, at least he didn't die a virgin."

Review by Spider and Mike Thorpe of Team Fishcake.

Graeme Kenna GRAEME KENNA

Spider: Had potential (a few obvious gags though and the internet typing thing went on far too long - and is suspiciously like John Warburton's) but looked really nervous and kept forgetting bits. Some good laughs though.

Mike: The audience were a bit quiet at first, but to be honest, Graeme didn't too to well in trying to get them warmed up. Went on for far too long, it was quite weird though, he didn't get many laughs, but the ones he did were really loud.

Johnston and Johnston JOHNSTON AND JOHNSTON

Spider: A nice change from 'typical' stand-up comedy. Nice twin-based humour, especially the stupid questions bit.

Mike: Original and entertaining. Nice to see something a bit different. I don't know if this is an indication of how much I enjoyed them, but they didn't seem to stay on stage that long.

James D'Chapeau JAMES D'CHAPEAU

Spider: Really liked this guy, top class humour. Nice poetry and great stage presence. Shame his video camera didn't work as well as my minidisc. Fuck my luck.

Mike: Bizarre, but an absolutely brilliantly funny character. Immensely strange poetry. Very memorable.

Matt Kirshen MATT KIRSHEN

Spider: The roof is being mended as I type. Absolute stormer, and some excellently sick gags. Even Stewart Spaull went "Oooooh!" at one of them, which is a hell of a recommendation.

Mike: Wow. Seen him three times and each time he's got twice as good. Ripped the place to shreds, played an absolute blinder. Two lines of his stick in my head: "It was the gayest thing I've ever seen... and I've seen two men fuck." and "What does that say on your head, mister?" "It says Free Ice Cream, now get in the van."

Alan Carr ALAN CARR

Spider: As good as ever really. Shame he didn't have time for a longer set, but never mind. Great stuff.

Mike: He was really good, really confident and adding just enough eccentricity (is that a word?) to finish the night off.

See you next week.

Spider and Mike.
